Wedding Planning 101: How to Style Your Dream Wedding

Renowned American designer Charles Eames said it best, “the details are not the details, they made the design.”  There are so many small details to consider when wedding planning, each one equally important when it comes to achieving your dream wedding style. I asked Special Event Rentals to share some wedding planning advice and they considered every detail. Here’s what you need to know when it comes to styling your big day.

  1. What do I need to consider when shopping for wedding rentals? What do I need to rent for the ceremony, the reception tables, the dance, decorations, etc… 

We always recommend booking your rentals sooner than later, being items are available on a first come, first serve basis. With that being said it’s best you book at least 2 month prior in case we have to special order items in for you. Not sure what to rent for your wedding?   1. How do I start planning?

Some brides have dreamed of their wedding their whole lives and have had them planned forever, while others are thrown into the unknown landscape of wedding preparations and event planning. No matter which type of bride you are your wedding is probably your first venture into event planning and we are here to help. Start by exploring your options and creating an image board that can help you express the style you envision for your wedding. Next comes the important task of setting a budget. Before looking for the dress, the venue or anything else for your big day you and your fiancé should sit down and create a budget. We can’t stress enough, the importance of being realistic about your budge. Be sure and find out the actual costs of venues, catering and photography in your area!

  1. How long do I have the rental items for?

Our customers are always welcome to pick up their rentals the day before their event and return the following day for no additional charge. In certain situations,special arrangements can be made for earlier pickups for out-of-town events, etc.

 

  1. Do I have to clean everything before I bring it back?

The short answer is no. With our linens we ask that you shake the linen out and return it in any containers that were provided for the linen. Do not, however, put wet linen in plastic bags or containers as this will cause mold to grow in a matter of hours and destroy the linen. With our glassware, dinnerware and flatware we ask that any liquids be removed and food be scraped off. We do the washing for you, just simply scrape, rinse and put into the containers you received them in.

  1. Do you deliver, pickup or set up the rentals?

Delivery and pick up is available for an additional cost. Please contact us for most up to date rates in your vicinity. We can either arrange to do set up and take down at an additional cost or refer a  wedding planner that offers these services à la carte.

  1. Do you have any specialty rental items that are unique or very popular?

Our client’s love our exposed wood Harvest Tables and specialty chairs. With options ranging from our wooden Vineyard Chairs to classic Chiavari Chairs and so much more, our specialty chair rentals continue to be hugely popular and can  transform any event space!

 

  1. What are your 2017 wedding trend predictions?

2017 brides are anything but ordinary and as a result will continue to forego traditional ballrooms for unique venues such as coffee shops, breweries, warehouses, vineyards, restaurants and tents. These distinct spaces offer a blank canvas, perfect for tailoring décor to a couple’s specific style. Also remaining popular for 2017 weddings will be anything vineyard-inspired. We’re talking exposed wood tables, carefully crafted wooden chairs with a distressed finish, and of course whiskey barrels. Specialty vineyard and café chairs are understated and effortlessly draw together a harmonious look. Whether you want to dress up the event with traditional elements, or keep your look casual with more natural elements, the wood grain detail of a harvest table is the perfect foundation for many place settings.

  1. Is there anything else I need to know about wedding planning?
